Abstract

Identification of the Location and Length of a Crack on a Cantilever Beam Huang Wei; Wu Daihua(Assoc. Prof.,Dept. Eng. Mech.,WUT,Wuhan 430070,China.) This paper has presented a kind of theoretical method of identifying the location and the length of a crack on the tensileside of a cantilever beam. A spring hinge with stiff coefficient K has been introduced to establish the mechanical model of a crackedbeam with simple hinges. With the help of energy balance theory and stress intensity factor theory, the relation between K of the springhinge and the length of a crack has been obtained. With comparison method was initial parameters chosed. Then, using the regularizedinverse analysis iteration method, the location and the length of a crack have been identified. spring hinge, identification, crack, regularize, inverse analysis
